How Do SureSmile Aligners Work?
SureSmile is a good option if your teeth are crowded, crooked, misaligned, or if you have a dental malocclusion (poor bite). After you choose SureSmile, our dentists will take digital x-rays of your teeth and jaw and impressions that'll be used to make your aligners. After your aligners are custom-made, a staff member will contact you to schedule a fitting. You can expect to have appointments every four weeks. During these appointments, we will check on your progress and give you replacement aligners as your teeth and bite adjust. If you lose or damage one of your aligners, simply call us, and we can have a new aligner made so that you can keep going with your treatment without having to wait for your next appointment. Depending upon the position of your teeth and the amount of correction needed, your prescribed orthodontic treatment may last 6 – 24 months.
It's very important to keep your teeth and aligners clean so you do not develop tooth decay. Flossing, brushing your teeth, and rinsing with mouthwash once you take out the aligners are good habits to start with. You should also clean or rinse the aligners before putting them back into your mouth. Store your aligners in their protective case during meal times so you don't lose them. Once your treatment is finished, it is recommended to wear a retainer to keep your teeth from moving back to their original place. You must continue to make yearly dental examinations at Creating Beautiful Smiles so we can check up on your bite, alignment, and overall oral health.
