What to Expect from Traditional Metal Braces
Following your initial exam, an individualized treatment plan will be created by a member of our team for your particular case. When you return to get your braces, your teeth will be properly prepped and cleaned before placing your metal brackets. Once we have brushed the bonding agent to your teeth, your metal mounts will be placed. Once all the mounts are done, Dr. Palmer or Dr. Smalkoski will thread the wire through them. Then, you'll have the ability to pick your desired band color(s). The tiny bands keep the wires connected to the mounts. The application process generally moves quite quickly, and patients often experience no discomfort. You should expect to return to Creating Beautiful Smiles around once a month for adjustments and progress checks.
